I have an American Indian friend that told me once: "the growing of 'life', is the give and take, the interaction we experience...weaving in and out of each others life-force...I give you some of me and you give me some of you...and how we grow!" I wish I could express in words, the dignity, courage and love I experienced while being allowed to move about the fringes of your courageous battle with Cancer. I will never forget the Engle family, the respect I have is beyond my ability to convey. I want to thank you for a deeper insight into how to better allow the universe to work it's magic through me...how to better care for those that give me so much more than I could ever give. Always....Dee, RN~~5 South Bergan Mercy Medical Center

I remember Dea as one of the brightest people I have ever met. People, problems, and projects he handled with elegance. I wish that I could have known him better.

In everything he did, Dea was guided by a deep desire to help those who needed a voice. He was a man of great character, integrity and intelligence. I will especially miss his familiar "how do" & our converations at work. With deepest sympathy

I just found out today that my cousin had passed on. I had not seen him in years but I remember our days as kids playing basketball at the barn in Modoc with dea and my brothers. He always was a great guy and i am sure he will be greatly missed. The entire Waters family from Richmond IN would like to send our condolences. Our prayers are with you.

Hi I just wanted to send my condolences on your Uncle Dea. I knew him when I was a real young girl only in Ohio. I am part of the Hubler family and Earl was married to my mother's sister Joan, my Aunt. Dea was a very funny person for what I can remember of him and he was such a nice person. I am really sorry for your loss to the family. Please feel free to email me at (removed)

Wow! What a surprise to find out that he is gone. Never knew he was sick. But I will always carry good memories of my Uncle Dea! Of the younger years when we all did so many things together. Surely will miss his smile and laugh. He sure looked alot like his father, (my grandpa). So he is up in Heaven with some pretty special people. He will be missed.

I'll always remember Uncle Dea as a strong and giving person. To see the photos that you've displayed - the smile that literally lit up his entire face - yep...that's how I remember him. Always smiling, no matter what. I'm so sorry he had to go so soon. The angels will surely enjoy this one! He'll keep them all smiling, for sure!

Dear Dannie, Chin and family,

You are all in our thoughts and prayers..We know what a long road your family has traveled and how difficult in must be. I really appreciated the opportunity we all had to share the fun of settling, moving and graduating you girls up at NU. Your dad was "the man" fixing and putting everything in the Garnett apt together! Those are fun times we will always remember fondly. Please let us know if there is anything at all we can do..our best always,
Grace

Dea, keep up the fight, I know it is hard to do. Find the blessing in every day. I've never known a man who loves his family more than you. Chin, I have never met you or the girls, but when you posted their locations and studies, I recognized every one -- Dea is so proud of each and every member of your family, we've been lucky to know you all through him. I so wish I could have come to the party to meet you all, but we were all just getting over a very nasty respiratory bug, and I couldn't risk giving it to Dea. If there is anything I can do to help out in any way, please let me know. I will continue to pray for you all every day.

As a first time viewer of this site, you have reminded me that our true strength lies in two things .. Our gentle tenacity and how our families rise to meet each day. I, too, admire Dea's strength and gentle spirit. I have come to admire how he has equipped his family to meet the constant challenge this cancer presents. I do wish you well and God Speed.

Teaching a child about life is the most important aspect of parenting. Dea is blessed in the fact that his efforts are overwhelmingly obvious. Strength comes from within. Compassion forms out of love.
